Do you love giving a room personality and accent with a range of accessories that pull the look and color palette together as if a professional designer had a hand in it? Then you aren’t alone. That’s right – you’re in company with the President of the United States, no less. When Donald Trump moved into the White House, he gave the place a partial make-over, according to an article in the December issue of Newsweek.
A Marvellous Make-Over
The new furnishings and fittings for the White House included $1.75 million, which was spent on wallpaper, custom rugs, and a custom-made conference table from the same manufacturers who supplied one for Richard Nixon. None of that is surprising, given that it’s a tradition for new presidents to undertake some measure of redecoration when they move in. And with Donald Trump’s hotelier background, he’s likely to have a good eye for that sort of thing.
Restroom Renovation
That’s not all Trump did, however. He also renovated one of the stately landmark’s bathrooms, namely the one nearest the Oval office, which visitors to the White House say he loves to show off. With a total of 35 bathrooms in the building, Trump has multiple options to choose from. It’s unknown whether he personal takes his guests on tours of all the bathrooms, or just his preferred venues. It’s also not clear how much of the $17,000 dollars he spent on custom rugs as part of the make-over were destined for rest rooms.
Custom Area Rugs in Bathrooms
Using hand-made and designer rugs in bathrooms isn’t anything new. We no longer live in a time when homeowners are expected to settle for standard, rubber-backed bath mats that look like they came out of Grandma’s basement. Instead, using round Oriental-patterned rugs in a large, open-plan bathroom brings a taste of the exotic to your daily bath time, while some homes go as far as making their bathrooms fully-carpeted rooms.
Whatever your preference is, we at Brentwood Flooring America can help you select the right custom area rugs for every room in your home.
